Integrated Physical Therapy prides itself on providing effective care with a friendly attitude. Our staff has a wide variety of experience in Physical Therapy as well as a variety of specialty areas.
Tate Van Houten - DPT, PRC, Owner and President
Tate earned his undergraduate degree in Athletic Training and Pre-Med from Simpson and his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Creighton University in 2006. He has been working in the outpatient orthopaedic setting since graduating and in 2012 opened Integrated Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine. He also owns Integrated Golf Performance and is certified in Postural Restoration. He enjoys working with complicated chronic pain patients as well as golf patients and helping them realize their full potential with good biomechanics. Every year he goes to Pebble Beach and "works" at the Pro-Am. Tate is married and he likes to hunt and golf in his spare time, which is limited, as he has twins.
Laurie Eickhoff, DPT, CLT-LANA
Laurie has a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from the University of Iowa, Masters in Physical Therapy from St. Ambrose University, and Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Des Moines University. She obtained her PT license in 1999 and proceeded to work in a hospital setting, Home Health, and nursing home from 1999-2002. In 2002 she started working in an outpatient orthopedic setting in Des Moines. She joined Integrated PT in January 2013. Laurie's favorite patient type is neck and upper back pain. She uses a lot of manual therapy techniques with all patients. Laurie is married and has two children. In her down time she likes to color and go fishing and boating. Laurie is our lymphedema specialist.
Leisyl Holladay - PTA
Leisyl graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education in 1991. She worked as a personal trainer and aerobics instructor at a local health club from 1991 – 1996. She then went on to pursue her Physical Therapist Assistant degree from Indian Hills Community College and graduated in 1998. Since graduating, she has been working in an outpatient orthopedic physical therapy setting treating a variety of patients from work comp, general orthopedic to post-surgical. She started with Integrated Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine in November 2012.
Katlyn Heiserman - DPT
Katlyn graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2014. She completed her Bachelor's of Science Degree at the University of Nebraska at Kearney where she also served as a 4 year starter for the volleyball team. She has worked in outpatient orthopedics since graduating and joined the Integrated team in 2016. She enjoys combining hands on care and dry needling with corrective exercises to optimize movement and performance. Outside of work she enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with her husband and their Bernese Mountain dog.
Kristopher VanHouten - DPT
Kris graduated from Duke University with his doctorate in physical therapy after completing his undergraduate work at Central College. He enjoys combining a multitude of treatment tools including Postural Restoration, Pain Reflex Release Technique, and dry needling in the orthopedic setting to optimize his patients' function. Outside of work, Kris enjoys spending time with friends and family, golf, cycling, fishing, hunting, and following Iowa football and Duke basketball.
Andrew Gibson - DPT
Drew graduated from the University of Iowa with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in December of 2016 after completing his undergraduate studies in biochemistry with a coaching endorsement at Drake University in 2014. Following graduation Drew practiced in an outpatient orthopedic setting in the Quad Cities. While at Drake he job-shadowed with Tate and formally joined the Integrated team in January of 2019. Drew is a Dubuque native and avid Hawkeye fan and enjoys all game days, especially football. In his free time Drew participates at the local YMCA, enjoys being outside, exploring new trails, and trying new restaurants.
Steph Rohe - DPT
Steph graduated from Des Moines University in May 2019 with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy after completing her undergraduate studies in kinesiology/exercise science from the University of South Dakota in 2016. Steph has had experience in long term acute care, skilled nursing, and outpatient orthopedics. She is originally from Lemars, IA (Ice cream capital of the world). Steph enjoys hiking and biking with her fiance and spending time with her large family including 25 plus nieces/nephews.
Bri Mooers - DPT
Bri graduated from Iowa State University with her Bachelors of Science degree in 2016, then went on to pursue and earn her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Des Moines University in 2019. She’s interested in general orthopedics, vestibular disorders, and working with dancers as she’s danced recreationally and competitively most of her life. Bri is a Des Moines native, growing up on Des Moines’ southside. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, biking on local trails, teaching dance lessons part-time, tailgating at ISU football games, and playing with her new puppy, Maya.
Teri McNeley - Reception, Downtown Location
Teri joined the team in the fall of 2016. Prior to joining the team she had 15 plus years of experience working in the medical field. She is a Des Moines native. In her spare time she enjoys chasing her 3 sons and hanging out with her husband. She enjoys getting outside, camping with family and friends.
Julie Niehaus - Reception, South Location
Julie joined the team in August of 2016. She has worked in a variety of medical settings including EMT, respiratory therapy, and front office positions. Julie calls Johnston home, and in her spare time she enjoys chasing her grandkids, live music, traveling, and exploring the Des Moines bike trails.
